Faye Carter is angered to see that Wes Carter is still hanging around the village. Gemma Sanders, unaware that Wes is Faye's husband, gets to know him in the café, until Candice Pritchard arrives and reveals who he is. It soon transpires that Wes is hoping for Faye to change her mind about the divorce, but Faye demands that he leaves. Later, Wes informs Faye that he wants to build a family with her, but Faye explains that he cheated on her, and she loves Maria Townsend now; Wes then questions where Maria is. Meanwhile, Maria has been out all night and all day, and is at a gay bar. She is hit on by another woman, Claudia. Though turning her down at first, Maria later accepts her company and they discuss their problematic love lives. Faye and Maria soon find themselves kissing Wes and Claudia, respectively. Reality hits Omera Bhaduri when she begins to see the pain she is causing Hakeem Bhaduri, and turns to Desiree Johnson for support on how to be a better person; Desiree is able to convince Omera to give Sue Morton her job back as a start. Elsewhere, Terry Dawson attempts to apologise to Reinette Acharya for missing their anniversary dinner, and though Reinette forgives him, it is clear that she is still troubled. Carl Dawson tells Danny Walker that somebody is threatening to out him. Carl decides to bite the bullet and come out to Sam, Reinette, Jeremy Dawson and Sue with encouragement from Terry, while Danny borrows Carl's phone in an attempt to find out who is trying to out him; he ends up calling the number while walking past Hakeem, and Hakeem's phone rings.
