Plot[edit | edit source]

At the hospital, Peter Sanders is recuperating from his heart attack. A guilt-ridden Candice Pritchard pays him a visit, but is stopped by a distraught and exhausted Gemma Sanders, who tells her that she of all people should know what it feels like to lose someone you love, and that she should have told her about Peter. Omera Bhaduri brings flowers to the hospital for Gemma and Peter to apologise for Hakeem Bhaduri's behaviour, but is also turned away by Gemma. Back in Ashwood, Isaac Walker and Kerry Walker chastise Emily Walker about her behaviour the night before, and forbid her from seeing Hakeem again. Further to this, Isaac also fires Hakeem. Emily turns up for her shift at the pub, but Faye Carter turns her away, still furious with her, and demands that she takes unpaid leave. Anaya Bhaduri also gives Emily the cold shoulder. Later, Candice expresses her guilt to Faye, and Faye tells her the most important thing is that Peter is fine. Maria Townsend plans a candlelit dinner for her and Faye, but is unhappy when Faye continues to worry about Candice and Peter. Maria doubts that Faye still loves her, and Faye storms out. A desperate Hakeem threatens Carl Dawson into discarding of the CCTV footage, but Omera fears he has made things worse. Danny Walker senses that Carl is feeling stressed about something, so arrives at the garage with beers. Carl opens up about how his mother walked out on the family six years ago, and Sam, his father, never told him why. Carl acts on impulse and kisses Danny; Danny pulls away awkwardly and a horrified Carl runs off.
